This week's question comes from Ivan who blogs at Ivan Bookworm:
"What book influenced or changed your life? How did it influence/change you?"
"What book influenced or changed your life? How did it influence/change you?"
This is a tough one to answer. When I was young, Judy Blume opened up a whole new venue of books at a time in my life when I was young and naive. Now, in my early 40's, I rediscovered my love of reading with the help of Diana Gabaldon and her amazing OUTLANDER series. This book opened up a whole new window upon the world for me. I am now interested in a whole new time and place in history. And once again, I have rekindled my love for reading. So what book has altered your life?

ReplyDeleteI remember reading Judy Blume when I was younger and generally being weirded out by some of the things in her books. I'm sure if I read them now I would see them differently!

Judy Blume, huh? If I remember right, she wrote 'The Fourth Grade Nothing' and Superfudge' I liked those books. Although, when I was younger I read R.L. Stine books mostly. :D

This is a lovely answer, being honest a book has never changed something in my life for more than a few weeks but this sounds like it really changed what you like for a long time! =)
ReplyDeleteMandy, thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming my newest follower! I forgot how much I loved Judy Blume when I was young. I remember our third grade teacher reading, Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret to us. I went through a period when I started a new job where I just stopped reading and it's so good to find something that brings you back.
ReplyDeleteNow that someone just mentioned it, Judy Blume books are on my life-changing list. I guess I have to check out the Outlander series.
ReplyDeleteThe Outlander series is on my TBR list. I really want to read it. I never read Judy Blume. My mom wouldn't let me. I've always wondered why.
ReplyDeleteI was very interested to see how much you liked the Outlander series...I have never read any of these books, and I'm not sure why, as I can't recall reading a bad review of one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I'm now a new follower.
